Melin Melyn

(UK (Wales))

Melin Melyn are quickly becoming one of the most talked about names in this next golden generation of Welsh artists. Having released their debut EP “Blomonj”, only last year, the six piece will already be familiar to avid festival goers across the UK, with their name (which translates to Yellow Mill in English) rapidly rising up billings due to their already critically acclaimed live shows. Steeped in a 70s aesthetic, Melin Melyn already seem adept at transforming the new with the old, with the likes of Syd Barrett, Kevin Ayers and psychedelic Welsh folk music from that era, whilst keeping one eye firmly on the future.

The band were highlighted by The Independent and NME at the start of 2021 as one of the must-watch acts this year), and have been hailed by The Guardian & NME for their incredible live performance at Green Man 2022. Formed in 2019, the band is composed of Gruff Glyn (lead vocals, guitar, saxophone) Will Barratt (lead guitar), Cai Dyfan (drums), Garmon Rhys (bass)
